Gammel Estrup receives 902,500 DKK for Restoration
Gammel Estrup - the Manor Museum has received
902,500 kr from Shipowner Carsten Brebøl's Public Utility Fund for
restoration of a number of rooms on the first floor. The
restoration is an important part of the preservation of the Danish
cultural heritage which the manors and Gammel Estrup represent.
Gammel Estrup - the Manor Museum hopes to be able to open the newly
restored rooms as early as 2012. The
rooms will be furnished in rococo style and will show the housing
culture and life at the manor as it could have been during the last
half of the 1700's when Jørgen Count Scheel and Charlotte Louise
von Plessen lived at the manor.
