By car from Randers
Follow the signs for Grenaa or the A21 for Ebeltoft, and then the A16 for Grenaa. The museum is roughly 20 kilometres from Randers, and is on the left-hand side of the road just before Auning. The car park is next to the road, right outside the museum.
By car from Århus (Aarhus)
Look for directions for either Randers or Grenaa. If you wish to go via Randers take the E45 motorway towards Randers, leave the motorway at exit 42, and follow the directions above from Randers to the museum. If you wish to use slightly smaller roads and see a little more of the countryside, follow the signs from Århus for Grenaa onto the E15 motorway, take the first exit and turn left onto the A587 towards Hornslet. Turn right onto the A563 for Hornslet after about a kilometre, drive through the town and follow the same road for Auning via Ring. When you get to Auning, turn left at the traffic lights and drive out of town for roughly 3 kilometres. Almost as soon as you leave Auning you will be able to see the house and its grounds standing back from the road on your right-hand side.
By bus
From Randers there are two buses, the 212 (Randers-Ebeltoft, and the 214 (Randers-Grenaa) which stop right outside the museum. From Århus the 119 to Oersted (not to Hornslet) stops in Auning. If you cross the road on your left at the traffic lights you can change bus to the 212 or the 214 towards Randers, or if you enjoy walking you can keep going along the same road and enjoy the view of the house and its grounds as you get nearer.
By canoe
If you enjoy physical exercise you could drive to Allingaabro instead, which is a small town about 3 kilometres from Auning. The turning is on your left if you are driving from Randers, and 3 kilometres beyond the museum on your right if you come from Auning. You can park here, rent a canoe from the tourist office at the old railway station, and row through the fields, which used to belong to the manor along the river Alling right to the museum. It takes about an hour and a half to row each way.
