Walls decorated with birds and flowers

In the Antechamber, the walls are covered with the original painted canvas panels from the mid-18th Century.

The canvases were stretched on wooden frames, fastened to the walls and finally painted. The decorations are Rococo, the style, which was fashionable then, featuring flowers, birds and rocailles in shades of blue.

Rocailles were a key design of the Rococo period and recur in 18th-century architecture, furniture, china and silverware. They take their shape from natural objects like seashells and rock formations.
