Privacy and Data Protection Policy for Gammel Estrup
In connection with the General Data Protection Regulation – also known as GDPR – Gammel Estrup has updated its privacy and data protection policy.
The General Data Protection Regulation came into force on 25 May 2018 and applies throughout the EU (as well as the EEA countries). You are automatically covered by the rules and therefore do not need to take any action.
All information that can be attributed to a single person constitutes personal data. This information may have been provided to the museum in connection with employment, affiliation as a volunteer, through a professional network or as a collaborative partner. Information may also have been provided in connection with registrations for events and the like, or collected during visits to websites etc.
Security
Gammel Estrup always handles personal data securely and in accordance with applicable legislation. Both when the museum is (most often) the data controller, and if the museum acts as a data processor.
Gammel Estrup ensures that it always uses data processors within the EU who follow the same legislation as us.
Internally in the organisation we ensure a high level of data security. We encrypt or anonymise information to the extent possible and lock away information in paper format in accordance with legislation.
The website
When visiting some of Gammel Estrup's or the Danish Centre for Manor House Research's websites, Gammel Estrup collects data in order to produce statistics, optimise the websites and target marketing. We process, among other things: IP addresses, operating system and browser system, date and time of visits, and we place cookies. In order to produce statistics and possibly remarketing, data is collected and passed on to third parties such as Google.
Cookies
Gammel Estrup uses cookies for analytical purposes, and all information is anonymous. We collect, among other things, information about number of visits, average visit duration and navigation around the websites.
Newsletters
You receive the newsletter because you have signed up for it. We store only your (first) name and email address. We use Mailchimp for sending out newsletters. You can unsubscribe from the newsletters at any time.
Events
When registering for an event, booking a guided tour etc., the participant(s) are registered with name, address and contact details. The information is stored for up to 6 months after the event and is then discarded.
Donations
When making donations to the museum, the donor provides their name and address, as well as their CPR number if they wish to claim a deduction on their tax return. The museum only uses the CPR number to pass on to the Danish Tax Authority so that the donor can receive a deduction for the donation. The data is stored for up to 5 years in accordance with the Bookkeeping Act.
Collaborative partners/trade
In connection with ordering goods and delivery of services from Gammel Estrup, we create a personal profile which is used for delivery and invoicing. When Gammel Estrup purchases goods/services from collaborative partners, a profile is also created with name, address, and contact details as well as bank details for payment purposes. Information is stored for up to 5 years in accordance with the Bookkeeping Act.
Jobs
If you apply for a job at Gammel Estrup, we process the personal data we have received from the applicant as well as any references that the applicant has consented to us contacting. We store all applications for 3 months before they are discarded.
