Steps Towards a more Sustainable Future

Gammel Estrup – The Danish Manor & Estate Museum works with green transition and sustainable development of the museum in order to protect history and culture as well as the environment and people.

To ensure that the cultural heritage of the past also exists in the future, we must work with climate and environment, social responsibility and business conduct in the present.

Gammel Estrup will integrate climate and environment into the entire organisation's practice. The museum's goal in this context is to reduce the museum's CO2 footprint and prioritise green outdoor areas.

Gammel Estrup will ensure the preservation, research and communication of the part of Danish cultural history that belongs to manor house history for the enjoyment and benefit of the public. The museum's goal in this context is to be an active player in society and work to ensure diversity, equality and inclusion, active citizenship and wellbeing for both staff and visitors.

Gammel Estrup will maintain a democratic and transparent business practice characterised by integrity from the board of directors and management to staff and volunteers. The museum's goal in this context is to continue the politically and interest-independent line, and to ensure continued transparency in the organisation's operations.
